Ramps & Rails

        

Through this program, Waco Habitat volunteers modify the homes of disabled persons to allow for easier accessibility. Modifications might include a wheelchair ramp to the primary entrance or, depending on the scope of applicant's needs, handicap accessible updates to the bathroom.  

Selection Criteria
•  Applicant must own the home where the modifications are to be made
•  Applicant must occupy the home as his/her primary residence
•  Applicant (or a member of household) must have a disability that makes the requested modifications necessary
•  Applicant must not be able to pay for the modifications through other means
•  Applicant must have a household income at or below 80% of AMFI for your household size (see income chart)
•  If there are members of applicant's household that are physically able to help with the project, they must work with the volunteers to make the modification

After your application is received, you will be notified as to the status of your application.  If your application is approved, the modifications will be made to your home at no cost to you.  Due to limited resources, Waco Habitat for Humanity may not be able to approve every application that meets the above criteria.
