Global Village
Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime as you help families that face dire housing needs in the United States. Waco Habitat will travel to San Vicente, El Salvador the week of February 18-26, 2012.
The benefits of volunteering for a Global Village trip
• Volunteering on a Global Village trip gives you the opportunity to observe and contribute to Habitat’s work firsthand.
• You will learn about poverty housing, development challenges and Habitat’s ministry and mission to help eradicate them.
• You will experience the community’s culture, language and social practices while working alongside homeowners and volunteers of all backgrounds, races and religions.
Trip cost: Approximately $800 + airfare (about $650 roundtrip from Waco to San Salvador, El Salvador)
• Trip cost includes transport from airport, travel medical insurance meals, snacks, lodging, and a donation to the host community (San Vicente)
• Trip cost does not include visa & exit fees, cancellation insurance, R&R activities

• Inform Waco Habitat of your interest - email here
• Make a $350 deposit, payable to Waco Habitat for Humanity by December 31.
• Obtain or renew passport ASAP (New passports take 4-6 weeks to process.)
• Purchase trip cancellation insurance (recommended but not required)
• Check with your family physician or Center for Disease Control about vaccinations and other travel precautions
