Habitat for Humanity International is a Christian organization and welcomes volunteers from all faiths who are committed to Habitat's goal of eliminating poverty housing.
Building on Faith

Communities of faith play an important role in Habitat for Humanity's mission to eliminate poverty housing. Habitat for Humanity provides a variety of meaningful opportunities to put faith into action.

Theology of the Hammer
EVERYONE is invited to participate regardless of their beliefs. Habitat for Humanity's "Theology of the Hammer" acknowledges our differences while finding common ground in our shared call to manifest God's love in the world.

How Your Community of Faith Can Participate:
•  Include Waco Habitat in your annual budget
•  Publicize Waco Habitat application meetings
•  Provide meals to the prison partners
•  Invite Waco Habitat to speak to your group
•  Particpate in a Global Village trip
•  Pray for Habitat's ministry
•  Invite members to join Carpenters Club
•  Sponsor a House (alone or with other local congregations) for $45,000
•  Notify WHFH of national funds/grants your community of faith may provide
•  Organize a Ramps & Rails team
•  Volunteer
•  Donate leftover building materials to the ReStore
•  Sign up for Building on Faith eNews
•  Share these opportunities with your congregation
