Apply for a Home

Waco Habitat for Humanity makes home ownership possible for low-income persons in need of affordable housing. Applications are available only by attending an application meeting. These meetings are held every other month. Please check our online calendar for specific dates, times and locations.

You may also complete our online home interest form so that we can mail you an invitation to our next home interest meeting.
 

  1. Your combined household income must fall within the guidelines below. Combined household income includes wages, social security payments, child support, disability payments, veteran’s benefits, retirement income, home business, or other money earned.
  2. You must show evidence of desire to maintain and care for a house.
  3. You must commit to long-term loan payments (usually 25-year, no interest loans).
  4. Your current housing situation must be inadequate.
  5. You must have a good record of paying house payments or rent for at least three years.
  6. You must have residency in the Waco area for at least one year.
  7. If selected, you or your family members and friends must work 300 hours on your own home and other Habitat projects. (The first 150 of these hours are to be completed within six months after you are accepted.) If you are disabled, we will help you find ways to work for you.
